香港青年工業家協會於1989年開始籌組成立，並於1992年正式註冊。 主要成員為每年香港工業總會主辦，並由政府高官、工商界領袖、大學校長組成的評審團選出的「香港青年工業家獎」歷屆獲獎者，以及少部份傑出的年輕企業家。本會成員時值盛年，是一批跨世紀、有朝氣並具一定經濟實力和社會影響的青年工業家。

會員特點：
一、年青，獲獎年齡在45歲或以前，會員平均約51歲；
二、均具有一定經濟實力和管理經驗的企業家；
三、均為香港各行業商會的領袖；
四、愛國、愛港、關心社會。

迄今，香港青年工業家協會共有一百三十多位會員。隨著每年不斷有「香港青年工業家獎」得獎精英及本港工商界青年才俊的加入，本會會員人數、代表性以及發展潛力，均在不斷加強。

到目前為止，本會全部會員皆有在內地投資。據非正式統計，本會會員在內地投資的企業，主要有電子、家庭電器、機械、塑膠、五金、化工、紡織、服裝、珠寶首飾、鐘錶、眼鏡、玩具、食品、電訊及資訊科技等行業。估計會員在內地僱用的員工達到100萬人，每年總產值超過2,000億港元，上市公司逾40間。

本會致力團結香港工商界友好，凝聚各方力量。會員在推動香港工業發展的同時，亦不忘回饋社會，熱心公益及關心國家大事，積極參與內地及本港的社會和慈善活動，如辦學、辦醫、救災、扶貧等工作，為內地及本港的社會穩定貢獻良多。

今後，本會將會繼續致力促進香港工業的發展，加強香港跟內地和海外的經貿交流合作，共創經濟繁榮。



Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council (YIC) was established in 1989, and officially registered in 1992. Most of the members are the awardees of the annual "Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong" organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, scrutinized and conferred by the judging panel consisting of senior government officials, experienced industrialists and leading academics.

YIC members are stereotyped by the following characteristics:
(1) They are young, of rewarding under 45 and the current average age of 50.
(2) They are experienced entrepreneurs with economic strength.
(3) They are leaders of different trade and industrial organizations.
(4) They are to promote the well-being of Hong Kong and mainland China.

Since its foundation, YIC has been working hard to contribute to the industrial, economic growth and prosperity of Hong Kong and mainland China. YIC has been promoting economic co-operation and business opportunities between mainland China and foreign countries. Besides, YIC has initiated idea exchange between Hong Kong industrialists and government officials, as well as leaders of social organizations through organizing seminars and conferences periodically. In order to incline the quality of manpower, YIC has launched a series of training courses to nurture professionals. In addition, YIC has showed its concerns on social issues by actively participating in a number of social activities and charity in both Hong Kong and China.

All YIC members are strongly investing in China, namely electronics, electrical appliances, machinery, plastics, metal, textiles, clothing, jewelry, watched, glasses, toys, food, information technologies, etc. YIC members' companies currently employ more than 1 million workforce in Hong Kong and all over mainland China. The annual sales turnover amounts to HK$200 billion and more than 40 listed companies.

The effort and contribution of YIC have been recognized and highly appreciated by the public and the government. It could be discerned from the fact that many YIC members have been conferred with honours by government on different levels in Hong Kong and mainland China. Some members have also been appointed to the key positions in political arena. The public recognition has in turn served to inspire and motivate the members dedicating to the commitment towards Hong Kong's future.

The new millennium will be marked by high-tech development. The growth of high value-added industries needs to be fostered to boost the economy. YIC will continue to associate local young industrialists for contributing to the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
